AAS Conference 2013
The AAS Annual Conference will be hosted by the Australian National University. The Conference will be held between the 6th and 8th of November.
The theme of the conference is "The Human in the World, the World in the Human". The theme of this conference embraces anthropology’s enduring commitments to grappling with the human condition in the widest terms.

We have three confirmed keynote speakers:
Philippe Bourgois: A medical anthropologist at the University of Pennsylvania whose recent work focuses on drug addiction and author of Righteous Dopefiend, In Search of Respect and Violence in War and Peace.
Yael Navaro-Yashin: A social anthropologist at Cambridge University whose work focuses on affect and subjectivity in the domain of politics and author of Faces of the State and The Make-Believe Space.
Joanna Latimer: A sociologist at Cardiff University whose work focuses on the ethnography of medical knowledge and practice ethnographically and author of The gene, the clinic and the family and, with M. Schillmeier, Un/knowing Bodies.”
Attendance at the Annual Conference is open to all interested persons, whether or not they are members of the AAS, on payment of the conference fee.
