Awards & Grants
The Australian Anthropological Society offers a range of awards and funding opportunities in support of achievements and activities that meet the objectives of the Society. Follow the links below for more information about each of the categories.
Any individual may be nominated for prizes and awards but only AAS members are eligible for grants and funding. All award winners and funding recipients are announced through AAS communication channels, are listed here on the website and formally acknowledged in-person at either the AGM or annual conference dinner.

Thesis Prizes
Each year the AAS awards prizes for the best Honours or Masters thesis and the best PhD thesis

Article Prize
Each year the AAS awards a prize for the best scholarly article published in an Australian journal

Postdoctoral Fellow
The Postdoctoral Fellowship is intended to assist a PhD graduate in the development of work for publication

Engaged Anthropology Fund
The Engaged Anthropology Fund supports innovative projects that promote anthropology to the public

Honorary Life Membership
Honorary Life Members are recognised for their eminence in and contribution to the profession of anthropology
